World Champions! 28-08-2001

1st Royal Engineers (A) on their way to grade 2

We won grade 3 at the World Championships on August 11 in Glasgow, Scotland. This is a historical event, since we are the first pipe band from outside the English-speaking world ever to win a major international competition.
The B-band were placed 6th in grade 4b and beating 43 other bands!
The A-band also won "best bass & tenor section".

The next day, in Perth, we were 2nd in grade 2 and 3rd in grade 3.

Next season 1st Royal Engineers will compete in grade 2.

Hear us play at the Worlds 2001 (mp3)!
